Funding Opportunities for Current Students
1. ECS Graduate Student Grant Competition
Graduate students in the Environmental & Conservation Sciences Graduate program are invited to submit a proposal to support their graduate studies. Proposals should be one page in length providing an overview of the proposed activities. Each proposal should include: 1) A brief overview of your status within your degree program, 2) Budget, and 3) Budget justification indicating how funds will contribute toward your graduate success. A short letter of support from the Advisor is also required which should indicate the status of the student and how the proposed activities will support the studentâ€™s degree program. Funds can be used for items such as 1) Graduate student summer stipend, 2) Field/Laboratory costs (including travel), 3) Travel to a short course. Funds may not be used for travel to a national/regional meeting. Grants will vary from $1000 to $3000, and all funds must be expended by June 30, 2009. Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of ECS Faculty (excluding faculty advisors of all students competing for funds).
