ICE PEOPLE: ECS faculty Ashworth and Lewis captured on a film
Distinguished Professor Dr. Allan Ashworth and Dr. Adam Lewis are featured for their Antarctica research in a film by Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker Anne Aghion. The ICE PEOPLE captures the true experience of living and working in this extreme environment.
Stockwell paper recognized as most cited paper
ECS Director, Dr. Craig Stockwell's paper, "Contemporary evolution meets conservation biology" was recently recognized as a leading paper in climate change research.
Hearne named as a Fulbright Scholar
Dr. Robert Hearne, associate professor of agribusiness and applied economics and a ECS steering committee member, has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar to Thailand for the 2009-10 academic year. He expects to leave in August for Kasetsart University in Bangkok for a stay of about nine months.
Nine Faculty and students receive grants for research
The Environmental and Conservation Sciences Graduate Program seeks to foster interdisciplinary scholarship that transcends traditional academic boundaries. In support of this goal, a recent seed grant competition was held for faculty to obtain funds to foster the development of interdisciplinary research collaborations to increase extramural grant submissions. Faculty from nine departments in four colleges successfully obtained funding.
