50045.11 Educational Law, Public Policy, and Political Systems

The program requires the study of legal provisions and statutory requirements of schools, application of regulatory standards, and development and administration of appropriate policies. The program uses a variety of performance assessments of students’ understanding and ability to apply that knowledge.           

Where the Standard is Met in the Program:  ED 712 Social, Political, and Community Dimensions of Learning, ED 631 Educational Law and Organizational Structure of Education, ED 735 Personnel, Supervision, and Staff Development, and ED 636 Policy and Educational Finance

Student Performance:  All candidates in the program are required to take these courses. A major assignment in ED 631 is writing Case Briefs. Student performance on this assignment is provided in the table below:
