How do I get started running the SEM for my students?

1. Download and install 'Real VNC.' This free remote control software will allow you to control the microscope with your computer over the internet.  Check with your IT staff, as sometimes permission is required to load programs on school equipment.
2. Check your calendar.  Determine when you have time available for a teacher practice session (about an hour) to familiarize you with the microscope controls, as well as when you want to demonstrate the SEM for your class.
3. Schedule your sessions.  Call us (701.231.8234) or e-mail (ndsu.em.center@ndsu.edu) to get on our calendar.  Please let us know as far in advance as possible.
