WHERE YOU LIVED PRIOR TO COMING TO NDSU? Prior to moving to Fargo, I was living in Middleburg, VA and working for a defense contractor in Falls Church, VA.
DEGREE SOUGHT: Doctorate of Emergency Management
RESEARCH INTERESTS: I feel a bit like a puppy at the momentevery day I read or hear about something new and exciting that I want to start chasing. So I have some work to do in regards to focusing my research interests. The international realm is enticing on many fronts, but I am also lured by transportation/logistics issues in emergency management and by interagency coordination in emergency management.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR DEGREE?
I am still grappling with what I want to be when I grow up. I am holding on to the pipe dream of being the female version of Jimmy Buffet and making a lot of money to drink margaritas and play barefoot on the beach. Of course, given the fact that my guitar-playing skills are subpar and I cant carry a tune, I should probably focus my energies on my studies. I think the teaching or research realm will probably be the direction I head when I am finished with school, but Ill see what opportunities arise when I get there.
PAST DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS: U.S. Coast Guard Academy, bachelors of Science in Government (2002) . Norwich University, Masters of Arts in Diplomacy (2008)
