After a short time at a private University in Ohio, I came to North Dakota State University in 2006. I research the representation of bodies and health in Modern and contemporary Irish literature, and my secondary research area is medical rhetoric. Some of my publication venues include Feminist Formations, Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction, and New Hibernia Review. My current project examines the trope of oncogenic bodies in fiction and medical documents from the United States, Ireland, and Kenya.
I just returned from developmental leave in Kenya and South Sudan where I guest lectured at Kenyatta University and, more importantly, fostered a Thompson’s Gazelle.
This fall I will teach Irish Literature and Film and British and American Women Writers. In the spring I teach Critical Theory and the British literature survey course.
