Energy Conservation Efforts
The North Dakota Department of Commerce, Division of Community Services granted North Dakota State University $20,000 in State Energy Program funds for the purchase and installation of electric smart meters. NDSU is providing a one for one dollar match for the grant.
These electric smart meters are being installed on the main building electrical service for the following Residence Halls:
♦ | North Weible Hall | ♦ | Thompson Hall |
♦ | South Weible Hall | ♦ | Pavek Hall |
♦ | Reed Hall | ♦ | Seim Hall |
♦ | Johnson Hall | ♦ | Dinan Hall |
♦ | Sevrinson Hall | ♦ | Burgum Hall |
One electric smart meter is also being installed in Loftsgard.
The US Green Building Council – NDSU Chapter is planning on holding competitions between residence halls to help reduce utilities. These electric smart meters will allow students to monitor their energy usage and compete against each other for the greatest energy reduction.
