Floyd Collins
Music & Lyrics by Adam Guettel; Book/Additional Lyrics by Tina Landau

A musical based on a shocking true story!

The entire country held its collective breath in February 1925 as they waited to hear the fate of Floyd Collins, a cave explorer trapped nearly 200 feet beneath the earth’s surface at the Sand Cave in Kentucky.  As word spread about Floyd’s entrapment, over 20,000 people flocked to the Sand Cave to seek their fortune off of Floyd’s misfortune.  As the circus reached its height with reporters, jugglers, medicine men, preachers and movie crews, Floyd was all but forgotten. The pursuit of fame and fortune and questions of life and death are played out in his unique, bluegress-style musical.
