Alf Clausen

Hollywood's Alf Clausen, a native of Jamestown, ND and NDSU alum (Class of 1963), is a two-time Emmy award-winning composer and songwriter for The Simpsons, television's longest running comedy. His Fargo performance will consist of two sections; the first will be An Insider's Look at Hollywood, where Alf will lead audiences on a journey through the process of composing songs and underscore for film and television. The second half of the evening will be a performance of Alf's music by a jazz band of local area musicians, conducted by Alf. The concert portion of the program will also feature top Los Angeles studio musicians Gary Grant on trumpet and Bernie Dresel on drums.

In addition to the Emmy awards, Clausen has received twenty-eight Emmy nominations, five Annie awards, three International Monitor awards and Grammy and CLIO nominations. His television credits include The Simpsons, Moonlighting, ALF (no relation), and The Mary Tyler Moore Variety Hour, to name a few. His music has also been heard in the films Half Baked, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dragnet, The Naked Gun, and Splash. Clausen is one of the most sought after and respected composers in Hollywood today.
