American Spiritual Ensemble

The NDSU School of Music, in partnership with the NDSU Choral Symposium: Music of the Americas, is proud to present The American Spiritual Ensemble, Saturday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Festival Concert Hall.

The mission of the American Spiritual Ensemble is to aid in the preservation of the American Negro Spiritual. Through live performances of the sorrowful to jubilant songs representing the lives of American slaves, the classically trained voices of the ensemble beautifully capture the haunting genius of these folk melodies. Since its inception in 1995, the American Spiritual Ensemble has performed throughout the world with a roster including New York Metropolitan Opera soloists, Broadway veterans, and some of the best professors of voice in the United States.

Admission to the American Spiritual Ensemble is free and open to the public.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
