Dr. Katherine Noone Lecturer Degrees:
Katherine Noone joined the Division of Fine Arts in the fall of 2007. Dr. Noone is both a classical/musical theatre voice faculty member and an administrative specialist for the division. In this position she serves the music and theatre departments, teaching applied voice, voice and musical theatre related courses, and serving as a musical director for the theatre department. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Noone served as a visiting Assistant Professor of Voice at Valley City State University and as a lecturer at both Concordia College and Minnesota State University Moorhead. She has also taught K-8 music in both private and public schools in Nebraska and Minnesota. Dr. Noone is an active regional performer, appearing in lead and supporting roles with Opera Omaha, Fargo Moorhead Opera, Minnesota State University Moorhead Theatre, Minnesota State University Mankato Theatre’s Highland Summer Theatre, Lofte Theatre, University of Nebraska’s Summer Repertory Theatre, Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre, and University of Nebraska Opera Theatre. Favorite roles include Guenevere in Camelot, Lizzie in 110 in the Shade, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, and Tisbe in La Cenerentola. She is also a recitalist, performing numerous solo and chamber recitals throughout the Midwest. Dr. Noone has appeared as a soloist with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony, NDSU Baroque Festival, Fargo Moorhead Chamber Chorale, the Voices of Concord and has served as the principal soloist at the First Church of Christ Scientist in Fargo since 1997. She is a Nebraska First Place NATS winner as well as a ND NATSAA winner. In addition to her performing and teaching activities, Dr. Noone has extensive experience as a musical and theatrical director. She has music directed over thirty musicals in the region and is also active in NATS, serving as past president and current state governor of the North Dakota chapter. Dr. Noone is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
