Wind Symphony Concert
November 9, 2012 – The North Dakota State University Wind Symphony is pleased to announce a campus visit by composer David Maslanka, best known for his wind ensemble pieces. Maslanka will be present at the Wind Symphony Concert on Tuesday, December 4 at 7:30 PM in Festival Concert Hall.
Maslanka has written more than 40 works for wind ensemble, including seven symphonies, 12 concertos, a Mass, and many concert pieces. His wind chamber music includes four wind quintets, two saxophone quartets, and many works for solo instruments and piano. In addition, he has written many orchestral and choral pieces.
While at NDSU, Maslanka will present guest lectures in several music courses. "A Conversation with David Maslanka," set to take place at 3 PM on Monday, December 3 in Beckwith Recital Hall, is open to the public.
