Olfert Guest Conductor at Festival

Dr. Warren Olfert, Associate Professor and Director of Bands with NDSU Music, was the guest conductor at the Festival of Winds in Tampa, Florida, December 1-4, 2011. 

Over 300 high school students participated in the Festival of Winds, which also featured guest conductors Craig Kirchhoff (University of Minnesota) and Deborah Sheldon (Temple University).  Pieces conducted by Olfert include Gallito by Santiago Lope, Dusk by Steven Bryant, Jocuri Poporale Romanesti by Bela Bartok, Mock Morris by Percy Grainger, and Symphonic Dance No. 3 “Fiesta” by Clifton Williams.
