NDSU Music Welcomes Reynish

The NDSU Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Warren Olfert, welcomes guest conductor Dr. Timothy Reynish, April 25-28, 2012.
Dr. Reynish is one of the foremost instrumental conductors in the world. He has conducted ensembles such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Hallé Orchestra in addition to orchestras in Norway, Holland and Germany. He has also conducted the São Paulo State Symphonic Band (São Paulo, Brazil), the Volga Wind Orchestra (Saratov, Russia), and the Philharmonic Symphonic Winds of Singapore. Dr. Reynish is currently the Senior Professor of Woodwind and Brass at the Guildhall School of Music in Drama (London, England).
While at NDSU, Dr. Reynish will work with instrumental conducting students, deliver a lecture for Music History, and present a convocation on Friday afternoon. The residency will conclude with Dr. Reynish as guest conductor for the Wind Symphony, Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 PM in Festival Concert Hall. The Wind Symphony will perform a concert of classic and contemporary British music, including pieces by Edward Gregson, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and William Walton. Adults are $5, students and seniors are $2; tickets are available at the door.
