Art Cinema Series Announced

August 28, 2012

The NDSU Art Cinema Series, a partnership with the NDSU Department of Visual Arts and the Fargo Theatre, will begin in September with the showing of Onegin, a passionate tale of unrequited love starring Ralph Fiennes and Liv Tyler.  The film will run one night only, Monday, September 10, at 7:00 PM at the Fargo Theatre.  Tickets are $5 each.

Set in the opulent 1820's St. Petersburg, Eugene Onegin is a typical bored aristocrat who denies the passionate profession of love from Tatiana, a landowner’s daughter residing in the country.  Several years pass before they see one another again and this time it is Onegin who falls helplessly in love with the sophisticated and beautiful socialite Tatiana has become.  Even though she is now married, Onegin becomes obsessed with winning her affections.

The NDSU Art Cinema Series presents an intelligent and unique film once a month at the Fargo Theatre. Future films include:

October 1 Russian Ark
November 5 Annie Liebovitz: Life Through a Lens
December 3 Maya Lin: A Strong Clear Vision
February 4 Our City Dreams: An Intimate Portrait of Five Women Artists
April 1 Linotype: The Film
May 6 David Hockney: A Bigger Picture
