For nearly 15 years artists Michael Strand, NDSU Visual Arts, and Amy Smith, James Rosenquist Artist in Residence 2013, have maintained a friendship that has allowed them to both criticize and embrace one another's work. Both artists share a love of process and materiality, handling clay with attention to subtle detail. Their individual works evoke one to touch the surface, inspiring intimacy in a non-functional form.
