Visual Arts Student Accepted Into International Art Exhibition

January 29, 2013

North Dakota State University Visual Arts student Matthew Bregier, sophomore, recently had a print accepted into the second annual Student International Small Print Show, hosted by El Minia University in El Minia, Egypt. Titled “Popeye Throws Like Discobolos,” the print will be exhibited beginning in March 2013 at El Minia University’s Creativity Art Center with a later showing at the Opera Art Gallery in Cairo, Egypt.

A student of Kent Kapplinger, Visual Arts Professor, Bregier learned the fine art of self-promotion, documentation, pricing of artwork, and more in addition to how to apply for exhibitions while in Kapplinger’s introductory printmaking class. Bregier used these skills as he submitted his piece for the Small Print Show.

Bregier is a 2010 graduate of West Fargo High School. He has previously exhibited his work at the Juried Student Show 2012, NDSU Darwin Day.
