Kapplinger Solo Exhibition

NDSU Visual Arts Professor Kent Kapplinger’s solo exhibition titled "Beneath the Surface" is part of an Americas 2012: Paperworks "Best of Show" award he received last year. The work, inspired by news articles, many of which address oil development in western North Dakota, react to benefits and pitfalls from the region’s recent increased activity. In several of the pieces the artist has returned to his sign-painting roots, creating unique large scale works that incorporate hand lettering, screen printing, and wordplay based on corporate logos.

The exhibition will be held at the Northwest Art Center in Harnett Hall at Minot (ND) State University. The exhibition runs through February 7.
