Hardy Koenig is a faculty member at NDSU with a focus in performance training, teaching acting, voice and movement. Hardy has been professor of theatre at Averett University, High Point University, St. John’s University, Minnesota State University Moorhead and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Hardy is an AEA equity candidate. A few of his favorite roles so far are Frank Hardy in Faith Healer, Caiphias in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Firs in The Cherry Orchard.

As a director, two of his favorite productions were The Laramie Project at GTCC theatre and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Hardy was also an Artistic Associate at the Western Stage in Salinas California where he worked as an actor and director in the Musical Theatre Performance Lab.

Before coming to NDSU, Hardy was the Director of Educational Theatre Services for the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) where he coordinated all aspects of educational theatre including auditions, festivals and scholarships. He was the lead presenter for SETC’s “Nail That Audition” master class and developed the “Stepping Stones to the Future” a workshop for students interested in working in professional theatre.

He is a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Teachers Association), ATHE (Association for Theatre for Higher Education) and SETC (Southeastern Theatre Conference).
