NDSU Musical Theatre Troupe Presents
Once On This Island

The NDSU Musical Theatre Troupe is proud to present Songs and Selections from Once On This Island, a delightful musical fable inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid.

Set on an island in the French Antilles on the night of a violent tropical storm, a group of peasants have gathered. A young child is terrified of the storm and the others try to sooth her by acting out a fairy tale of star-crossed lovers. The telling of the story spans the course of the night as the peasants weave their tale in song and dance while exploring universal issues such as love, anger, forgiveness, faith, maturity and death.

Led by Dr. Pamela Chabora, Songs the Selections from Once On This Island runs one night only, Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 pm in Askanase Auditorium. Admission is free!
