Thank you for taking time to respond to this survey about the role of science in public policy. This is a qualitative study: we want to use this survey to prepare individualized interviews. Because we are not emphasizing quantitative information, this survey requires you to respond by entering text into text boxes rather than selecting buttons or marking options.

We are surveying people from three different populations: (1) scientists or researchers, (2) policy makers or administrators, and (3) the general public, which may include lobbyists and activists.

Information gathered from this survey and follow up interviews will be used to produce research papers for publication in communication, writing, science, education, or rhetoric journals, for presentations at professional conferences, and for public information forums. Information will also inform our teaching of English 324, Writing in the Sciences.
