Office of the General Counsel
The General Counsel is the University's attorney and is responsible for providing and coordinating all legal advice and representation to NDSU, the President of NDSU, and NDSU officials, employees and related entities. In addition, the General Counsel provides legal advice to officers of student organizations upon request. The General Counsel does not represent individuals, either students or employees in private legal matters or when their interests are adverse to NDSU, but can give general referral information. The General Counsel has an appointment as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of North Dakota.
The General Counsel reports directly to the President. The Office of General Counsel is located on the second floor of Old Main, Room 202.
