How To Apply - DomesticNorth Dakota State University 's application procedure places responsibility on the applicant for gathering all supporting credentials and verifying your application is complete with the exception of any required test scores. The Graduate School will process your application once all required documents are received. Application Fees and Deadlines The application for admission to the Graduate School is available online. The application fee for domestic students is $35 plus a $10 processing fee. The deadline for submission is dependent upon the program. Please check the individual program requirements on the program pages of the website. If no deadline is listed, all application materials are due at least one month prior the start of the semester. Multiple Applications If you choose to apply to more than one graduate program, you must submit a separate application, a statement of purpose, and a $10 processing fee. Letters of recommendation and test scores from the previous application will automatically be used unless you notify us of your intent to have others sent. If it has been more than two years since your previous application was submitted, you must also send three new letters of recommendation, new test scores, if required, and any new transcripts. If you wish to change your program of application after you have submitted the application form, you must complete a new application. Reasons for Graduate Study Statement Please state your reasons for pursuing graduate study, specifying your special interests within your chosen discipline and including your background preparation in that area. Mention any relevant skills or experience that you have acquired. Transcripts In order to be considered for admission, your bachelor's degree must have been received from a college or university accredited by a recognized regional accrediting association. If you attended a non-U.S. college or university, your degree must have been received from a recognized institution where the requirements for the bachelor's degree are similar to those at North Dakota State University . Official transcript from each college or university where you have been enrolled or are currently enrolled are required. Include both undergraduate and graduate work. Request that your previous and/or current institution(s) send the transcripts directly to you in a sealed envelope or directly to the Graduate School, North Dakota State University, P.O. Box 5790 , Fargo , ND 58105 . If official copies of your transcript are mailed from the institution to you, do not open them. We cannot accept transcripts unless they are in a sealed, stamped envelope. Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation are required from persons familiar with your academic achievements. Letters cannot be more than two years old. Letters can be sent to the Graduate School via the online application process or by mail. By including your recommenders' emails in the appropriate fields on the application, they will be sent an email that instructs them how to send the recommendations electronically. An alternative is to have the recommenders complete the NDSU Graduate School Personal Report form (MAKE IT A LINK) and ask them to mail it directly to the Graduate School or to you in a sealed envelope. The Graduate School will not accept letters of recommendation that have been opened. Required Test Scores: Some departments require Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) general and/or subject test scores. The individual program pages of our website state whether a GRE score is required. You may register for the GRE on the internet at www.GRE.org . Business Administration requires Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores. GMAT scores can be requested by visiting www.mba.com . Please arrange to have any official test scores sent directly to the Graduate School . When requesting that official GRE test scores be sent to NDSU, use code 6474 . All official test scores must be within two years of the date of the application to the Graduate School . Fraudulent Records Any transcripts, certificates, translations, or examination results that appear irregular will be verified with the appropriate school or examination authorities, and the application process will be delayed until verification is received. If it is determined that an applicant has submitted false records or omitted information about previous school attendance, his/her application will be denied, and legal action may be taken. Admission Process Once the Graduate School has received a complete application, it will be forwarded to the department for review. Each graduate program makes its own recommendation, but the final admission decision is the responsibility of the Dean of the College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies. You will be notified by letter as soon as a decision is made. Questions? NDSU Graduate School NDSU is an Equal Opportunity Institution.
