Professional Development
A key mission of the Graduate School is to work closely with departments, faculty, and students to provide the information and support for successful graduate study. The Graduate School offers a number of opportunities through workshops and events. Additionally, staff members are very willing to provide more focused assistance regarding topics such as recruitment, thesis and dissertation preparation, or financial awards to groups of students or faculty in individual departments.
The Versatile PhD is a service designed to help humanities and social science graduate students, ABDs and PhDs identify, prepare for and excel in non-academic careers. A STEM forum was created in October 2011 to provide a dedicated space for discussion of STEM career issues. This service is free for all NDSU graduate students.
