    Graduate School Search:


    The Graduate School is accepting applications for awards to enhance recruiting activities of graduate programs at NDSU. Proposals should be no longer than 2 single-spaced pages and are due at the Graduate School office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008. The Graduate Dean will form an advisory committee to review the proposals and make funding recommendations. Final decisions will be made by the Graduate Dean prior to or on February 29, 2008.

    Program Philosophy:

    The awards are intended to support efforts for enhancing recruitment of new graduate students.

    Constraints :

    This money is supplied on a one-time basis and cannot be used to fund continuing activities like stipends or stipend enhancements. Program requests should not exceed $7,500; partial funding may be provided. The funds must be expended by June 30, 2008.

    Examples:

    These awards are available for any activities that will enhance recruitment for graduate programs at NDSU. Examples include funds to bring prospective students to NDSU for a campus visit and the creation of new promotional materials to attract applicants. The Graduate School is particularly interested in funding projects that propose new and creative recruiting efforts.

    Proposal Requirements :

    Applications for these awards must

    • be submitted by a department/program chair/head
    • include a specific description of how this award will enhance current activities in the program
    •   include a description of how the award will increase the number and/or quality of graduate students in the department/program

    Preference will be given to

    • programs that have a clearly articulated plan to recruit graduate students
    • plans that foster the creation of a diverse graduate student community at NDSU
    • plans that target graduates of North Dakota 's baccalaureate-granting institutions
    • creative ideas that expand the scope of student recruitment at NDSU
    • proposals that indicate matching money will be provided by the department/college
