ECE 499/696 Integrated Circuits Packaging MUSC 441/641 Symphonic Literature MUSC 442/642 Opera Literature MUSC 443/643 Keyboard Literature Additional Items Appeal of decision-ME 476/676 Mechatronics course proposal Dr. Allan Kallmeyer discussed the course outline and purpose for this course in the program. Dr. Bob Pieri discussed a conversation he had with Dr. Glower regarding didactic courses. It seems the policy of the Graduate Council has changed midstream, which make it difficult for the community to react. Another issue is requiring new courses to be offered as temporary courses. University Senate Academic Affairs removed this requirement. Dr. Wittrock stated our policy has been to approve new didactic courses. If we are changing our policy, is now the time? Is it appropriate to do so in response to one course proposal? Jacob Glower made a motion to bring ME 476/676 back to the table and approve as numbered. Stephen O'Rourke provided the second. After discussion regarding the dissemination of information at the college level, the motion was approved. GRE Test score expiration date ETS will now send scores that are up to five years old. Our policy is that test scores are valid for two years. Do we want to change our policy? Verlin Hinsz made a motion to extend the acceptance of GRE scores to the timeframe in which ETS will continue to send them. Charelene Wolf-Hall provided the second. This information will be given to departments that require the GRE so they can decide if they would like to change their policy. Supplemental application materials Dr. Wittrock explained that applicants will send materials that are not required for application, but the Graduate School does not currently send these items to departments. After some discussion, it was suggested the Graduate School let department know when these materials are sent so the department may ask to see them. At 9:35 a.m., Dr. Wittrock adjourned the meeting. Respectfully submitted, Melissa Selders-Ortez
