The
Mission
The mission of the Region V CSCC is
to "Plan and coordinate with parents, policy makers and service providers to
increase public awareness/support, and through collaboration develop needed
programs for children and families in Region V." Regional Children's Services
Coordinating Committees were established by legislative action. The Region
V CSCC accomplishes its mission by:
-
increasing regional collaboration
through public/private partnerships.
-
coordinating children's services
to avoid duplications
-
utilizing volunteer efforts
to ensure cost effective coordination
Due to limitations
in resources, the need for collaborative efforts such as those provided
by the Region V CSCC continues to grow.
Community
Plan
The Region V CSCC community plan directs the "work" of the committee. Approximately
150 regional volunteers donated over 2,200 hours in the development of our
comprehensive community plan for Children's Services. The plan has been designed
to identify gaps in services and avoid duplication. Implementation of the community
plan is done through the work of Region V CSCC committees and regional organizations.
Plan implementation
is also accomplished by awarding financial support to programs and projects
serving children and families throughout Region V. Funds distributed by
the Region V CSCC must be used to address Community Plan goals and objectives.
Children's
FaxNews
Our monthly newsletter, the Children's FaxNews, provides information on the
activities of the Committee, regional children's workshops/trainings and opportunities
to become involved with the Region V CSCC. The Children's FaxNews is received
by over 700 members regionally. If you would like to be added to our mailing
list, please contact Becky Bakke at (701) 232-2452.
