D.B. and Edith Allen

Two scholarships of $410 will be awarded to sophomore, junior or senior students with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, exhibiting leadership qualities, showing professional promise, character and providing service to the community. Financial need will be considered when other qualifications are equal. One award will go to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. One award will go to a student majoring in Dietetics. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

ALBA BALES SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $390 will be awarded to an active member of Phi Upsilon Omicron-Beta Chapter who demonstrates leadership potential. Recipient must be enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education and taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement.  Recipient must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

GRACE E. BAYLISS GOLD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

Three scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to outstanding students with financial need. One of the scholarships will be awarded to a current freshman to be received in their sophomore year, one to a sophomore to be received in their junior year, one to a junior to be received in their senior year. The students must be enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

DEAN CHARLOTTE BENNETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

One scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to a junior or senior to provide financial support. The student must be enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Preference is also based on active involvement in the leadership of the student member section of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and other campus and community organizations. Applicant must have and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

BOARD OF VISITORS SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $1250 will be awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education and majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Education; or Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences. The recipient must exhibit financial need, be active in student organizations, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Board members will interview the final applicants to determine the recipient. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


ALVIN L. AND IRENE B. ARNESON & BARBARA ARNESON BIELFELDT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $420 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education pursuing a career in Apparel and Textiles. Selection is based on financial need as defined by the Office of Financial Aid at NDSU. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGNERS STUDENT CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP

Two scholarships of $250 will be awarded by the NDSU Student Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) to students enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education. Applicants must be a member of the NDSU Student ASID Chapter (membership dues paid), receiving a major in Interior Design. Selection criteria is based on academic performance (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00), active involvement in the NDSU Student Chapter of ASID, and financial need. The recipients must be third or fourth year students enrolled in the Interior Design program taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at the time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


BANCROFT DINING SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $420 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in Hospitality Management. Selection criteria: high academic profile and financial need (as a secondary consideration). Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

GRACE E. BAYLISS GOLD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

Three scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to outstanding students with financial need. One of the scholarships will be awarded to a current freshman to be received in their sophomore year, one to a sophomore to be received in their junior year, one to a junior to be received in their senior year. The students must be enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

JESSAMINE S. BURGUM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Two scholarships of $475 will be awarded to freshmen or sophomore students enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Apparel, Design and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Selection is also based on academic aptitude, character, and vocational promise. Financial need will be considered but is not a limiting factor. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


FARGO MOORHEAD CONVENTION AND VISITOR'S BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $500 is awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management.  Applicant must be a member of the Hospitality Student Association (HSA) and taking a minimum of 12 graded credits.  The recipient must be a junior or senior at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


FASHION APPAREL AND BUSINESS ORGANIZATION AWARD

One scholarship of $100 will be awarded by the Fashion Apparel and Business Organization (FABO) to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education.  The student must be a member of FABO (membership dues paid), receiving a major or minor in Apparel and Textiles, and have a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher. The award is based on academic performance, student involvement and leadership in FABO. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


JAMES AND SHERRY HEYER SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $740 will be awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits and a junior or senior at time of award disbursement.  Recipient must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


NDSU HOSPITALITY STUDENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS 

Two scholarships of $500 will be awarded to two students (one Freshman/Sophomore and one Junior/Senior) enrolled in the College of Human Development and declaring a major or minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and be active members in the Hospitality Student Association with their dues paid. The recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 credits at the time of award disbursement and if applying as a Junior/Senior, recipients must have a job in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. The recipients will attend the HDE Honors Day Award Ceremony in April.


JANECEK SCHOLARSHIP FUND

One scholarship of $315 will be awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Apparel and Textiles or Interior Design. Selection will be based on involvement in a student organization of Apparel and Textiles or Interior Design and a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to Phi Kappa Phi members who meet the above criteria. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


HELEN ARNESON LUNDE AND VIRGINIA ARNESON PRYNE ENDOWED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $365 will be awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Apparel and Textiles with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


VERNON MARKEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $633 will be awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management in the College of Human Development and Education. Applicant must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and be employed in the hospitality and tourism industry. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


NORTH DAKOTA INTERIOR DESIGNER SCHOLARSHIP

(MAIL IN APPLICATION ONLY): To be eligible, applicant must currently be in their third year in the NDSU Interior Design program as well as an active NDID member (membership dues paid). Two students will receive $750 toward their fourth year in the Interior Design program at NDSU. Awarded amounts will be given directly to the recipients prior to the beginning of the school year. Please use this application form. Mail completed form to: North Dakota Interior Designer, Attention: Scholarship Chair, P.O. Box 1692, Fargo ND 58107-1692. Deadline: February 28, 2014.


ROGER AND ELSIE PITSENBARGER SCHOLARSHIP

Six scholarships of $1850 will be awarded to students enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education, majoring in the areas of Apparel and Textiles. Must demonstrate academic promise and be involved in activities or work. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


EMILY P. REYNOLDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $650 will be awarded to a freshman enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in Apparel and Textiles for use in the sophomore year. Selection criteria: scholarship, leadership potential, and interest in the field of Apparel and Textiles. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


JOHN J. AND CHARLES B. AND ANNE STEGNER SCHOLARSHIP

Three scholarships of $445 will be awarded to students enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in Apparel and Textiles with a concentration or minor in Business Administration with a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend Honor's Day celebration.


ADHM TARTAN SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $1000 is awarded to an undergraduate enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management.  Recipient must be taking a minimum of 15 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must have a cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher.  Preference given to students who are active members in one of the following student organizations:  American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Fashion, Apparel and Business Organization (FABO), or Hospitality Student Association (HSA).  Financial need will be considered but is not a limiting factor.  Recipient must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

ANNA J. THORFINNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One scholarship of $250 will be awarded to an undergraduate student in the College of Human Development and Education who is majoring in an area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Applicant must be an active member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, if appropriate, or have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicant must also demonstrate financial need. Preference will given to a Family and Consumer Sciences major. Recipient must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

MABELL WHELAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Two scholarships of $575 will be awarded to students enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education majoring in and area of Apparel, Design, and Hospitality Management; Human Development and Family Science; Dietetics; or Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Recipients must be taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement and must attend the Honor's Day celebration.


DORIS MAE HOLZMAN WISCHOW SCHOLARSHIP

Four scholarships of $2,395 are awarded to sophomore, junior or senior students enrolled in the College of Human Development and Education with a need for financial assistance. Students must have an academic excellence with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher and taking a minimum of 12 graded credits at time of award disbursement. Priority will be given to female students from North Dakota who are pursuing a career in Apparel and Textiles.  Recipient must attend the Honor's Day celebration.

Review the scholarship listing which you will find on this page and choose a scholarship you would like to apply for and follow these instructions.
