News from the Center for Heritage Renewal, North Dakota State University
The website of the CHR is beginning to take shape, a recent and welcome addition being graphics provided as a public service by Suzzanne Kelley. The sprigs of rosemary adorning the head and foot of the home page are in keeping with the mission of the center, inasmuch as rosemary is the herb of remembrance.
The first of three Ladbury Lectures for 2006 (funded by the North Dakota Humanities Council and assisted by the CHR) took place last Saturday night, September 9. It featured Chandice Johnson speaking about the Sibley Expedition of 1863 to an interested crowd that pretty well filled the church. Two more lectures to go--see link at right for more information. For now, though, here's a photo of
Chandice checking out Sibley sites on the map with a couple of history buffs who continued the discussion after the lecture.
