College of Humanities and Social Sciences Scholarships

In addition to the many scholarships available through individual departments, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences has available three general scholarships ranging from $150 to $1,000 for students majoring in our college. Those wishing to apply for any of these scholarships should complete the scholarship application form and return by March 1st to:

Byron L. Berntson (Class of 1961) Memorial Scholarship

Must be properly enrolled at NDSU in the College of AHSS at time of application (Spring Semester) and during the time of actual disbursement of funds (Fall Semester).
Must be majoring in one of the following: English, a foreign language, history, political science, communication (speech communication or mass communication), or any of the fine arts (music, art theatre arts).
Minimum GPA of 3.6 over the preceding academic year at NDSU.
Must have provided a contribution to the life in the NDSU community through membership in a service fraternity or society, the student government, a musical or dramatic arts group, or on the staff of a student publication.

Delsie Holmquist Memorial Scholarship

Must be properly enrolled at NDSU at the time of application (Spring Semester) and during the time of actual disbursement of award (Fall Semester).
Must be identified as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior student enrolled as a major in the College of AHSS.
Minimum GPA of 3.6.

Glenn Hill Memorial Scholarship

Minimum GPA of 3.5
Must be a sophomore majoring in the College of AHSS.
Must have demonstrated financial need as defined by the Office of Financial Aid
Must be properly enrolled at NDSU at time of application (Spring) and during the time of actual disbursement of funds (Fall Semester).
