Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in the Sport and Recreation Leadership Studies major (SRLS) at North Dakota State University. On behalf of NDSU and the Department of Health Nutrition and Exercise Sciences I am pleased to share with you some information about our SRLS program of study.

The aim of SRLS is to offer students the best of theory mixed with the best of practice. As such, we promote, stimulate and encourage student learning using assorted on-the-job and off-the-job training opportunities such as participation in assorted field experience opportunities, and embarking on theoretical investigations that are combined with scholarly writing. The SRLS major area of coursework includes 55 credit hours, 12 of which are taken in the final semester of the senior year as an internship at an approved local, state, region, national or international level sporting organization.  To complete the degree and enhance employment prospects, candidates SRLS are required to complete a supporting MINOR such as Business or Communications.
