Dear Prospective Student:
Thank you for your interest in the Sport and Recreation Leadership major (SRL) at North Dakota State University. The aim of SRL program is to offer students the best of theory mixed with the best of practice. As such, we promote, stimulate and encourage student learning using on-the-job and off-the-job training opportunities such as participation in field experience. The SRL major includes 55 credit hours, 12 of which are taken in the final semester of the senior year as an internship at an approved local, state, region, national or international level sporting organization. To complete the degree and enhance employment prospects, candidates are required to complete a supporting MINOR in Business.
A total of 122 successfully completed credit hours are required to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Leadership including general education and elective credits.
SRL Graduates are prepared to be employed in a variety of Sport and Recreation Management occupations. Graduates may work at local, state, national or international level sporting organizations.
