Employee Insurance


NDSU offers fully funded health insurance for both individual and family plans along with the option to purchase dental, vision and supplemental life insurance plans.  Additionally, employees are provided with long-term disability insurance.  Voluntary long-term care insurance options are also available.

Health and Wellness
Health insurance premiums are paid by NDSU for either an individual or family plan. The effective date for new employees is the first of the month following their date of employment. The insurance is underwritten by BlueCross BlueShield of North Dakota.
Dental Insurance
There are two options available for dental insurance. Both plans are employee-paid and taken out via payroll deduction.
Vision Insurance
NDSU offers employees the option to purchase vision insurance for themselves and their family.
Life Insurance
NDSU employees are provided a basic life insurance plan as well as an option to purchase supplemental life insurance at low group rates.
Long-Term Disability Insurance
Employees receive long-term disability insurance as part of their benefits package. There are two options for long-term disability insurance based on the retirement plan the employee participates in.
Long-Term Care Insurance
There are two companies that offer long-term care policies to our employees. Employees may elect to apply for a long-term care policy and the premiums can be paid via payroll deduction.
