Tuition Waiver Fall Semester Deadlines and Updates
Fall semester classes begin on Tuesday August 26, 2014. We would like to extend this reminder as a courtesy to all that take advantage of either the Spouse/Partner and Dependents Tuition Waiver and/or Faculty/Staff Tuition Waiver benefit.<//span>
There is a recent change to NDSU Policy 133.1: Tuition Waiver – Spouse/Dependents now expands to the inclusion of partners. The Spouse/Partner and Dependents Tuition Waiver now includes specific language for same-sex partners of benefitted employees and their dependents. There is a Declaration form to fill out and attach to the Tuition Waiver application.
*A Spouse/Partner and Dependents Tuition Waiver Application needs to be submitted to the Human Resources/Payroll office by the Monday two weeks prior to the start of classes each semester for which the waiver is requested. The deadline for Fall semester is Monday, August 11, 2014. Please mark your calendars to ensure that your waiver gets processed and routed to the appropriate individuals.
*The Faculty/Staff Tuition Waiver Application needs to be submitted to the Human Resources/Payroll office and approved prior to the beginning of the class for which the waiver is requested. A separate waiver application is required for each class you are requesting to have waived each semester.
Please refer to the NDSU policy manual regarding tuition waiver exclusions. Applications may be obtained from the Human Resources/Payroll forms page or in the Human Resources/Payroll office.
Please note that the policies on Faculty/Staff Tuition Waivers (Policy 133) and Spouse/Partner and Dependents Tuition Waivers (Policy 133.1) will be enforced and will not be approved if they are submitted late. There are no exceptions to this policy and you will need to visit with your respective Vice President if you have a late submittal.
