WELCOME
TO MY WEB PAGE AT NDSU
I
am an Associate Professor in the Department
of Chemistry and Molecular Biology in Fargo, North Dakota. My interests in teaching and research
are in the area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry. I received my undergraduate
degree from Olivet College, in Olivet Michigan, and completed my
M.S. and Ph.D. work at Michigan
State University. I spent two years
as a NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratories of Prof.
Barry M. Trost in Stanford. In 1996 I began my teaching career at NDSU and
was promoted to Associate Professor in 2002.
I
teach all levels of organic chemistry and organic spectroscopy.
I have developed web pages for undergraduate Organic Chemistry,
Chem 341 and Chem 342 which you can find in the links to
the left.
My
research interests lie in the development of new synthetic methodology
utilizing allyl organometallics. I apply this methodology to the
synthesis of biologically active natural products and new compounds
that have potential anti-cancer activity. Please explore my Research
Group link for more details about my research.
I
enjoy winemaking, cooking, and gardening and you can find some of
my personal interest web pages on these subjects.
Thanks
for stopping in.
