Today December 11, 2008 before class I went to visit the Plains Art Museum on First Ave. N. in Fargo. I did not get to see much of the museum because I felt really sick and I went home to get some rest. I did get though most of the museum before I left. There was a lot of art in many forms, paintings, sculptures, and other types of art work. All the art work was either about the plains or was made on the plains. Each piece of art work has its only little story of history, weather its about the thing drawn or it tells a little story about the past. The art work that I saw, you could get a feel of what life and culture is like on the plains. The museum was started as the Red river art center in 1965. It was originally located in Moorhead until 1996. To enjoy this museum you should make sure you have enough time to explore the whole thing. The museum I thought was really nice and nothing bad about it really came to me. I recommend that people go see this museum if they like art or not. The art work is so unique and cool I would think it would be hard not to find something that strikes a little interest. My favorite piece of art work was about and Native American tribe. It was really colorful and was really busy. I cant remember what it was called but it was by a Native American who's name was Frank Big Bear Jr. You can get into the museum free on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month or if you bring your student I.D. That was really nice since we are in college and it is hard to come up with cash.
