Specifications for Prospectus

The reason I ask you to do a prospectus for your paper is to compel us, you and I, to pause and reflect on the direction of your work. The project assumes a more concrete reality when you say, "Here is what I am doing," and I say, "Good—go ahead." It helps us be more assured that we have a mutual understanding of what to expect.

Your prospectus should be one good paragraph, written into your home page in the wiki. In the paragraph, please address these questions.

  1. What is your topic? You should answer this in your topic sentence.

  1. What is the scope or focus of your study? Where, when, what aspects?

  1. What primary sources do you expect to use?

  1. Based on your current knowledge of the subject, and on secondary reading, do you have any tentative hypotheses?
