Weblog for support of the New Zealand & Australian Studies Section of the Western Social Science Association; a place for scholarly connections across the Pacific.
One of my History students at NDSU, Lorna Meidinger, left a few days ago for study at Waikato University. I've set her up with a weblog in which to recount her adventures, and she has begun posting from NZ. This seems to me like a good thing to set up for study-abroad experiences, and so here's a link to Lorna's blog:

This weblog is established first as a vehicle for the NZ-OZ Studies Section of the WSSA. Officers of the section can use it to disseminate information about the annual meeting. Participants, if they become members of the weblog, also can use it to connect and coordinate. Moreover, I hope the blog will become a somewhat broader forum where persons interested in scholarly connections between the US and New Zealand and between the US and Australia will discuss mutual interests. See the link at right of the NZ-OZ page for information about becoming a member of the blog; all are welcome to read, but only members can post to the blog.
