Housing for NEH Seminarians

Housing can be a problem in the Fargo area, as despite current trends in the market nationally, Fargo remains a boom town in 2008. So, we arrange excellent accommodations in university-owned apartments, known as University Village. We have used thee apartments for seminars past, and they received great reviews. University Village is easy walking distance to main campus buildings, including Loftsgard Hall, where the seminar will meet.

Housing Rates

 Double occupancy, per person: $25/day

Single occupancy, per person: $35/day

So, if you’re coming to the seminar alone and wish a room by yourself, that will be $35/day. Last time around some people requested such single arrangements, but when they saw how spacious and convenient the apartments were, they reconsidered and wanted to go double. For those who are coming alone but wish to double up for rooming, we make what we think to be the most appropriate matches, based on information we get from participants.

If you’re coming to the seminar accompanied by significant other, then that will be $50/day for the two.

A factor to remember in calculating housing costs: we will be absent for a week or so in the middle of the seminar, during the trip to Eastend, and during that time you will incur (relatively modest) motel expenses.
