Absence

There won't be much new here for a while. Come the weekend I'll depart on family affairs and some research calls, be gone until 9 June; Jack Jackson of the History Department will have my itinerary. On return I'll be concentrating on ramping up for my NEH summer seminar, which begins the last week of June.

50 Years

I have the honor tomorrow of presenting a program once again for the 50-year reunion of the NDSU Alumni Association. This will be at 10:00 AM over at the Ramada. It will be Great Plains folksong, mainly. I'll sell autographed books for the benefit of our chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the honor society for student historians. The alumni are a cordial audience, as you might imagine!

Commencement

A misty low dampening the Valley proved once again the virtues of indoor commencement, and the Dome is a grand venue for ceremonies. In the post-commencement melee I managed to snap a few of our grads with family members.
