Kathy Elijah in Oakes
On 11 May I was in Oakes, North Dakota, to do a bit of folksong for Irrigation Days. Irrigation Days this year suffered under the disadvantage of torrential rains, but despite the inconvenience, not to mention the irony, of that, a cordial group of people came to the gym for performances. I found that on the program just prior to me was Kathy Elijah, History major at NDSU. She's been working with Wes Anderson at the Barnes County Historical Museum this summer and continues to do living history performaces across the region. Here she is, presenting a historic fashion show for the folks at Oakes.
