Appointment and Advising Schedule for International Students
- For F-1 students, assignments are made alphabetically by last/family name and students can schedule same-day appointments online.
- J-1 students meet with one advisor on an appointment-only basis.
- All advisors in the Office of International Programs (OIP) are trained to advise on employment and immigration areas as it relates to F-1 and J-1 students, in addition to general questions about health insurance and scholarship requirements.
How to Schedule an appointment
For F-1 students, click on your advisors name below to schedule an appointment.
For J-1 students, you can schedule an appointment in a variety of ways: Stop by the OIP in Memorial Union 116, call the OIP main office at 701-231-7895 or send an email to the main OIP address: ndsu.international@ndsu.edu.

Sara Johnson Sara serves as the international student advisor for all J-1 students at NDSU and also handles the admission of J-1 exchange, affiliate, and sponsored. students. She is the office webmaster and handles health insurance cards and billing issues for international students. In addition, she is the project manager for the office's electronic file system, ImageNow. Please note that J-1 scholars are advised by Deborah Maertens and Tabitha Thomas with offices located in the Equity and Diversity Center, Alba Bales House. | All J-1 students - by appointment Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 |
