Become a Global Outreach Ambassador

  

The primary purpose of a Global Outreach (GO) Ambassador is to broaden North Dakota State University’s visibility to prospective international students, overseas universities/schools, and overseas advising centers, through hearing about NDSU students’ experiences first-hand.

EXPECTATIONS
  • Represent NDSU to prospective students for one academic year
  • Respond to students' direct questions via email
  • One collaborative project with other GO Ambassador(s)
  • Two individual projects each semester:
    • Bison Tracks - write about an on/off-campus experience
    • Marketing video clip about NDSU (option for native language recording)
    • Participate in podcasts/webinars/Skype meetings about NDSU
    • Translation of country-specific information
    • Visit a school, university or education center in home country
    • Additional options as they become available

  • Ten Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship volunteer hours each term (current scholarship recipients only)
ELIGIBILITY
  • Completed at least 2 semesters at NDSU (includes current semester)
  • Maintained status as a full-time student
  • Minimum 2.80 cumulative GPA
  • Involvement in on- and off-campus activities or organizations/clubs
  • Submission of all application requirements by the posted deadline
  • Preferred requirements:
    º  Previous leadership experience
    º  Underrepresented country of origen (to provide diverse representation)
    º  Not serving as an Equity and Diversity Student Ambasssador or
        I-CORE member during same academic year
    º Not serving as a GO Ambassador for more than 2 academic years

The 2013-2014 application cycle has ended. More details about the 2014-2015 academic year will become available during Spring 2014 term.
