This page explains the process for students who are requesting
letters from the Office of International Programs for travel
purposes. Students may request the following types of information
in a travel letter:
- Confirmation of your full-time status as an
undergraduate or graduate student, your major and degree
and:

- Your anticipated graduation date
- If you already graduated, when you earned your
degree
- Includes whether or not you have applied for OPT or are
currently working on OPT (and what your OPT dates are)
- Letter to invite a family member to
visit you from overseas on a tourist visa
- A letter stating you wish to invite a spouse or child(ren) to
come here as F-2 dependents (please see this page for more information on bringing
dependents to the United States)
- Letter stating you have graduated from
NDSU
- Other purposes (check with an advisor)
TO REQUEST A LETTER - Please email
ndsu.international@ndsu.edu,
put "Letter Request" in the subject line, and include the following
information:
- Type of letter requested - State what
information you want included in the letter
- If you are inviting someone to visit you on a tourist
visa, please provide their full names and relationship to
you.
- If you are inviting dependents, please include their full
names, dates of birth, and passport numbers.
- Do you need us to include...

are reqeusting other special information be included.

When do you need the letter?
- Allow at least one week for processing of all
letters.
