International Friendship Program
The International Friendship Program (IFP) is an NDSU based program that seeks to promote international understanding by bringing together Fargo-Moorhead area families or individuals and international students that attend NDSU
Discover International Friendship and its Benefits
Every year over 300 international students come to Fargo to study, to do research, or to learn English. Yet many of these students will never step foot inside an American home while they are here.
Learning about another culture is an enjoyable way to expand your awareness of the diversity of the world and a practical way of promoting international understanding and peace between nations.

What are the obligations of participating individuals and families?
Friendship individuals and families act as contacts and resources to the international students. Hosts have no financial obligation and, since this is not a homestay program, students do not live with their friendship families.
What happens after a student is assigned to an individual or family will depend on the mutual interests of each student and host.
For example, hosts might introduce students to new activities;
Invite Students to celebrate holidays or traditions with you;
Introduce students to the sights of North Dakota;
Or just share your time;
