Costs: NDSU tuition + NDSU fees Students responsible for airfare, housing meals and other expenses.
Eligibility: Students with sophomore standing and at least a 2.5 GPA.
Housing: Each student will live in apartments or in on-campus dormitories
Credits: The program is worth 12-15 semester credits. A transcript from the host university will be issued to each student. Credits transfer back to NDSU and can fulfill various requirements in your major as well as other electives.

NDSU has developed a partnership with two Brazilian universities for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering majors. There are $4,500 scholarships are available thanks to a grant from the Department of Education.

Para is located in the northeastern state of Para in the city of Belem, Brazil. Set near the tropical Amazon River delta, the climate is hot and humid compared to the moderate south. Classes are taught in Portuguese, but prior language knowledge is not required. Rosetta Stone language software will be available in an engineering computer cluster at NDSU before you leave. The software is intuitive, interactive and visually engaging to help you learn Portuguese.
Students will arrive in Brazil eight weeks prior to the beginning of classes to receive intensive language training. Classes follow the southern hemisphere schedule: August-early December and March-early July.
