Notice to Undergraduate Transfer Applicants

Applicants who have attended a university either in the U.S. or outside the U.S. and wish to complete a baccalaureate degree at North Dakota State University must submit adequate documentation of their course work at those universities. This documentation must include official transcripts as well as detailed course descriptions officially translated into English. (Please send ahead of time or bring college catalogues, course syllabi, and other detailed descriptions of courses with you.)

Course work taken at an institution outside the U.S. which is recognized by that country's minister of education and at U.S. institutions that are regionally accredited is normally accepted for transfer to North Dakota State University provided that a) grades are passing and b) courses are comparable to those offered at North Dakota State University. However, please note that transfer credit is not guaranteed. Transfer credit is not awarded for course work that is vocational or technical. Even if transfer credit is awarded for course work, it may not be applicable to a particular degree program or academic major at the university.

Regardless of the number of credits transferred, students must meet all general and specific graduation requirements of the university.

Due to the lengthy process of evaluating transfer credits on a course by course basis, please be aware that the results of the evaluation may not be available prior to your arrival and registration at North Dakota State University.
