Connect your Mac OS X computer to GoPrint

Update queue name for QBB 150 color printer!

If you set up your computer prior to June 11, 2014, to print to the Quentin Burdick Building (formerly the IACC) color printer in room 150, you need to update your printer settings to reflect the new queue name: QBB-150-c

Use the instructions on this page, but instead of adding a new printer, simply update the queue field from IACC-150-c to QBB-150-c

  1. Click on the apple in the upper-left corner of your desktop, choose System Preferences
  2. Click on Print & Fax
  3. Below the list of printers on the left, Click on the + sign to add a new printer
  4. Make sure that the IP printer tab is selected at the top
  5. In the protocol field, choose Line Printer Daemon - LPD from the drop down menu
  6. In the address field, type
  7. In the queue field, type the queue name for the printer you want to use (see table below)
  8. In the name field, type in a name that will allow you to recognize the GoPrint station you are printing to
  9. In the location field, type in the location of the GoPrint station
  10. In the print using field, choose the printer type/driver as listed in the table below. If your printer model is not listed, go to and download a PCL driver for that model.
  11. Click the add button
  12. You should now be ready to print

Find your computer name

To efficiently locate your print job on a GoPrint station, you should first identify the name of your computer. Your computer name will be the DNS name your computer was assigned when you connected to the campus network (e.g., This name may change each time you connect to the campus network or as you move around campus.

  1. Open a Finder window
  2. Open the Applications folder, choose Utilities and then choose Terminal
  3. In Terminal, type hostname
  4. Your computer name will appear on the next line
  5. Make note of your computer name and quit Terminal
