Lanier does not print
Most all Laniers on campus require a valid user code. These codes are supplied by Document Services. There are TWO LOCATIONS where these codes need to be entered.
- Start - Devices and Printers
- Select the printer in question, right click, 'Printer Properties'
- If there is a 'Change Properties' option on the main page, select and give credentials
- Under 'Preferences' - 'Valid Access' your user code should be here.
- 'Apply', 'Ok'
- From the main page, 'Advanced' tab, 'Printing Defaults', 'Valid Access', your user code should also be here.
- 'Apply', 'Ok'
- Close then re-open and confirm BOTH sets of changes were made.
User code only allows for Black and White
Some user codes are set not to allow color. Despite logic, this also includes standard documents that do not include color. The printer needs to be set in TWO LOCAIONS to only print back and white
- Start - Devices and Printers
- Select the printer in question, right click, 'Printer Properties'
- If there is a 'Change Properties' option the main page, select and give credentials
- Under the 'General tab', 'Preferences', change ''Color/Black and White:' to black and white
- 'Apply', 'OK'
- Under the 'Advanced' tab, 'Printing Defaults', change 'Color/Black and White:' to black and white.
- 'Apply', 'Ok'
- Close then re-open and confirm BOTH sets of changes were made.
