Change your NDSU Electronic ID password

The password associated with your NDSU Electronic ID is used for Blackboard, computer labs, email, wireless and more.

  1. Go to
  2. Enter your Electronic ID and password
  3. Click on Change Password
  4. Enter your current (old) password
  5. Enter your new password
  6. Enter your new password a second time to verify that you have entered it correctly
  7. Click Change Password

Note: If the change was successful, you will get a message at the top of your screen that says "Password successfully changed." Otherwise, it will reload the page and provide an error at the top of the page.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. Open a Web Browser and go to 
  2. Click Continue
  3. Enter your Last Name, and then enter your Student ID or Employee ID (Emplid) number
  4. Click Continue
  5. Enter the requested information, and then click Continue
  6. Enter a new password, and then enter your new password a second time to verify that you have entered it correctly
  7. Click Change password to finish.

If you need help resetting your password, contact the IT Help Desk at 231-8685 (option 1) or bring your Bison Card to one of our Help Desk locations, and they will help you reset it.
