ITS will NOT support IMAP
ITS will NOT support the use of the IMAP protocol and recommends that you use either the Outlook client or the online web access portal for your email and calendaring. However, there are multiple reasons why you may wish this protocol turned on
Request the IMAP feature
To request that IMAP be turned on for your NDSU Outlook account, please contact the Help Desk. The Help Desk has no support for the functionality of IMAP but will submit a ticket to the system office to have the feature turned on.
This request can take up to 7 days to process.
IMAP Settings
If you wish to use the IMAP feature, the following are some of the settings you may need:
Incoming Mail Settings:
- server: imap.mail.microsoftonline.com
- port: 993
- SSL: true
- user: your NDSU Outlook e-mail address
- pass: your NDSU Outlook password
Outgoing Mail Settings:
- server: smtp.ndsu.nodak.edu
- port: 587
- STARTTLS: true
- user: your NDSU Electronic ID
- pass: your NDSU Electronic ID password
